Today, we do not use the age old technology or a designing strategy to build a website. Changes in the trends of designing a website are not just mere developments from the earlier trends. They are evolutions based on web-user-habits. They are fresh, robust and contemporary.
The definite shift in the trends is not always just reviews or redevelopment of earlier forms. Some web designing trends have evolved over the years to make the present day websites more user-friendly and aesthetic with creativity specific to industry standards.
The trends we are discussing in this post are only few, you are invited to share any other trends that you may know -
Bigger header and footers with oversized logos -
Headers and logos are oversized than ever before. Web designers use logos or brand names more prominently. They are even well camouflaged with the design, color, and also the layout to give the user no problem in using the site. Headers are becoming more eye-catchy.
Sketches that offer personal & interactive feel -
If you have seen a website with hand-drawn borders, now be ready to witness complete websites built on sketch or hand drawn Designs. Even corporate websites are tending to offer personal feel to any of the users by including sketches that are handmade. In fact it is easy to make your site interactive and remembering by including the hand drawn elements. Sketches are becoming an integrated part of the web designs.
Typefaces and Typography a defining trend -
Use of huge fonts to scream out the existence and presence. These type faces are Slab typefaces which are usually capital letters, bold and are really imposing.
Other trend is to use different typefaces by mixing them with varying font sizes – Typography. This is nothing more than playing with fonts by using them to specific needs. Typography uses fonts by bending them, or twisting them. A survey also indicates that the surfers are finding typography attractive rather than the site which shows photos.
Single-page layouts or One page layouts -
Websites which are just like a business card is not just a trend but a fashion. In fact this is a fast spreading trend. One page layouts showcase minimal but all information of the brand, in fact here brand is the only key factor for promotion. For a visitor these designs are very friendly, they are also personal.
Huge and Visually impactful images -
A close neighbor to the relatively oversized header is huge images. Use of huge image helps the visitor remember the brand name. Huge images also invite the visitors.
Web designs are becoming concept based and are emerging from different perspectives. Many a times the home pages never look like a homepage, they adapt to the design, and provide an aesthetic look. Showing minimum is also catching trend, use of lot of white space, use of minimum colors, use of white and black are all catching trends.
In general the trend is towards using – Simple Layouts, Center -Orientation, Designing the content rather than page, less 3D, Soft background color, less strong colors, attractive icons, whitespace, big text, magazine layout, introducing blocks
and social media sites.
